Verify email addresses and phone numbers
Require participants to confirm an email address or phone number before submitting.
Turn on verification
The primary Email and Phone fields can send a verification code that the participant must enter before the form is accepted.
- Open the primary Email or Phone field.
- Select Validation.
- Turn on Send Verification Code.
- Customize the Verify and Change Email or Change Phone labels.
- Customize the verification-code label, placeholder, help text, resend text, sent confirmation, and error messages.
- Submit a test entry and complete the full verification flow.
Verification confirms that the participant can receive and return a code at the supplied destination. It is separate from Email Consent and SMS Consent, which control marketing permission and integration syncing.
Allow or block email domains
The primary Email field can restrict domains under Validation:
- Turn on Allow Only Specific Domains and enter a comma-separated list when every other domain should be rejected.
- Turn on Block Only Specific Domains and enter a comma-separated list when only named domains should be rejected.
- Customize the error shown for a disallowed domain.
Enter domain names without an email username, such as company.com. Domain matching is not case-sensitive.
Use one domain strategy at a time so the intended rule remains clear. Test an accepted address and a rejected address before publishing.
Plan for code delivery
Make the verification instructions clear and provide a useful resend action. Participants may need to check spam filtering for email or carrier delivery for SMS. Verification must be completed before submission when it is enabled.
Additional Email and Additional Phone fields collect secondary contact information; they do not use the primary participant verification flow.
