Understand refunds and purchase-entry recalculation

Learn how refunds and corrected Shopify orders affect Purchase Sweepstakes entries.

Purchase entries should reflect the order value and products that remain eligible under the promotion rules.

When Shopify reports a successful refund or relevant order change, Revup reconciles the order ledger and adjusts entries. A full refund may remove all order-derived entries; a partial refund may change only part of the earning result.

Use the participant purchase detail to review the original order, refund state, applied rules, and current entry result. If the record is inconsistent after processing has had time to finish, an authorized user can run the supported recalculation for that purchase or participant.

Recalculation re-evaluates the order against durable purchase data and rules. It is not a manual entry grant and should not be used repeatedly without identifying the cause.

Test full and partial refunds before launch. Confirm how refunds affect referral awards, reporting, winner eligibility, and customer-facing totals, and describe the treatment in the official rules.
