Add bonus-entry actions and referral sharing

Award additional sweepstakes entries for referrals, social engagement, questions, visits, codes, and other actions.

Bonus actions let participants earn entries after completing the main form.

Use them to encourage meaningful engagement without making the experience confusing.

Add an action

  1. Open the promotion builder and go to Post-entry.

  2. Open the actions area and choose Add action.

  3. Select the action type.

  4. Enter the destination, instructions, question, code settings, or other required details.

  5. Set the number of entries awarded.

  6. Choose whether the action may be completed once, daily, or at another available frequency.

  7. Save and preview the participant experience.

Available actions can include referral sharing, website visits, questions, polls, extra entries, app downloads, uploads, coupons, passcodes, newsletter signup, and supported social-platform actions.

Referral sharing

The referral action gives each participant a unique link. A referral award is normally created only when an eligible friend follows that link and completes the required participation. Test referrals with two separate people or browser sessions; using the same identity for both sides may not represent real behavior.

Set clear expectations

Tell participants exactly what they must do and how many entries they receive. Do not describe an action as verified when the connected platform does not provide confirmation. For visit, follow, watch, or share actions, use accurate wording that matches what Revup can observe.

Before launch

  • Test every destination URL on mobile and desktop.

  • Confirm usernames and public profiles are correct.

  • Complete each action and check the participantโ€™s entry breakdown.

  • Confirm one-time and recurring limits.

  • Check that referral awards match the official rules.

  • Remove actions that are unnecessary or difficult to explain.

Bonus actions should be optional unless the official entry method clearly requires them and that requirement is legally appropriate for the promotion.
