Collect file uploads through a form

Configure accepted files, upload limits, and contest-specific photo and video submissions.

Add a File Upload field

Use File Upload to collect documents, images, videos, or other supporting files with a form submission.

  1. Open the promotion builder and select Form.
  2. Under Form Fields, add File Upload.
  3. Enter a clear label, placeholder, and help text.
  4. Choose the accepted file formats under Allowed File Types. Leaving the selection empty allows every supported format.
  5. Decide whether an upload is required.
  6. Under Validation, choose the minimum and maximum number of files from 1–10 and customize the upload errors.

Tell participants what to upload, the formats you accept, the number of files required, and any quality or content requirements.

Configure contest submissions

A contest supports one active File Upload field. Its settings can allow:

  • Photo uploads
  • Video uploads
  • Links to individual external social posts, videos, reels, or photos
  • A caption for each uploaded image

When image captions are enabled, Revup uses the contest image-caption controls instead of the general file-type selector. Customize the caption label, placeholder, and external-link error so participants understand what to provide.

Review uploaded files

Open the participant, contest submission, or audience profile to review uploaded media and files. File processing may continue briefly after submission, so confirm that the final stored file is available before relying on it.

Participant CSV exports identify the submitted upload, but use the product's file or media view to inspect the actual content.

Protect participants and your team

  • Test every allowed file type on desktop and mobile.
  • Test the minimum and maximum file counts.
  • Explain whether participants should remove sensitive information.
  • Give file access only to team members who need it.
  • Do not collect identity, financial, health, or legal documents unless your approved process requires them.
