Purchase Sweepstakes overview

Learn how Revup turns qualifying Shopify orders into sweepstakes entries and displays them across your store.

Purchase Sweepstakes overview

Purchase Sweepstakes connects Revup to Shopify and awards entries from qualifying purchases. Revup imports order activity, applies your entry rules, and keeps an auditable record of how each order affected a participant’s total.

Before you start

You need a Shopify store connected to the same Revup account. Only one Shopify store can be linked to a Revup account at a time.

Ways to award entries

Start with a base rule such as a number of entries for every amount spent. You can then add rules for specific products, collections, customers, or coupon codes. Keep the public explanation simple enough that customers can understand how their entries are calculated.

How orders become entries

Revup receives or imports eligible Shopify order activity and matches it to a participant profile. Qualifying order amounts and rule matches create entry ledger records. Refunds and other order changes can cause entries to be recalculated so the current total reflects the qualifying purchase activity.

Storefront experiences

Depending on your Shopify plan, theme, and installation, Revup can show entry information on storefront product pages, the cart, checkout, the thank-you or order-status experience, and customer accounts. Shopify Plus is required for checkout-only extensions.

You can also enable purchase referral tracking so a participant’s referral link points to your store and qualifying referred purchases can award entries under your configured rules.

Managing a live promotion

Monitor imported orders, participant entry breakdowns, storefront publication status, refunds, and connection health. Use recalculation only when you need to reconcile an order after correcting its underlying Shopify or rule state.

Before launch

Test a controlled order from product page through fulfillment of the entry display. Verify tax, shipping, discounts, currency, product rules, refund behavior, and the exact customer identity used to match the order.
