Review and moderate contest submissions

Inspect contest entries, approve eligible media, reject unsuitable submissions, and control gallery visibility.

Moderation lets your team decide which submissions are eligible and safe to display before they appear in the contest gallery.

Review the queue

  1. Open the contest dashboard.
  2. Select Moderation.
  3. Open a submission to review the media, caption, participant details, timestamps, and available history.
  4. Compare the submission with the eligibility and content requirements in the official rules.
  5. Approve or reject the submission.

Approved submissions may become eligible for gallery display and contest workflows. Rejected submissions remain part of the administrative record but should not appear publicly.

What to check

  • Required media is present and can be viewed
  • File and content meet the stated requirements
  • Caption and public text do not expose inappropriate private information
  • Submission does not contain prohibited, infringing, unsafe, or clearly ineligible material
  • Required consent and rules acceptance were provided
  • Participant and submission do not show obvious duplicate or abusive behavior

Be consistent

Use the same published criteria for every participant. If several moderators work on the contest, agree on examples and an escalation process before launch. Document any judgment that could later affect a winner decision.

Correcting a decision

Use the supported moderation controls to change status when a genuine review error occurred. Remember that removing an already-public submission may also affect votes, gallery links, participant expectations, and workflows triggered by the earlier decision.

Do not download or share submission media outside the people and systems authorized to administer the contest.
