Connect an AI assistant to Revup with MCP

What the Revup MCP server does

Revup provides a hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. MCP is an open standard that lets an AI assistant work with apps you connect to it. After you connect Revup, you can ask your assistant to work on promotions in your Revup account from a conversation.

Your assistant can:

• Find your promotions and read their saved settings, schedules, and content.
• Create giveaways, contests, forms, surveys, and other promotion types your account can use.
• Edit content, design, form fields, prizes, rules, and schedules, or duplicate an existing promotion with new dates.
• Use images from your account's library or import an image you supply.
• Check a promotion for readiness warnings, render desktop and mobile previews, and share its preview and public links.
• Summarize aggregate performance for a date range, with optional comparisons and device, source, campaign, or landing page breakdowns.

Before you start

• Use an assistant that supports remote MCP connections with OAuth sign-in, such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Codex. Your assistant's plan or workspace settings may limit custom connections.
• Use this server address: https://revup.com/mcp
• You need a Revup user with access to the account you want to connect. Your existing Revup permissions still apply.

The connection does not show participant identities or exports, select winners, send messages, take payments, or change subscriptions. Purchase integrations and instant-win prize allocation still need dashboard setup.

Connect your account

1. In your assistant's connection settings, add a custom MCP connection named Revup with the server address above. The Revup MCP documentation has exact steps for ChatGPT, Claude, and Codex.
2. Start the connection. Revup opens and asks you to sign in.
3. On Connect to Revup, check the app name and where you will return after connecting. For example, Claude returns to claude.ai, ChatGPT to chatgpt.com, and Codex to this device. If you did not start the connection from that app, select Cancel.
4. Choose your Account and review Allow these permissions. Uncheck any permission the assistant does not need.
5. Select Connect and return to your assistant.
6. Ask: “What can I do in my connected Revup account?” Confirm the account name before you ask for changes.

The connection applies to all promotions in the selected account. It stays connected for up to 90 days unless you disconnect it.

What happens next

Changes your assistant makes are saved to your Revup account right away. There is no separate draft or publication approval step: creating or editing a promotion can change its public page immediately, and the promotion accepts entries according to its schedule.

Before you share a promotion, ask your assistant to check it for readiness warnings and show a preview, then review the saved content, rules, dates, and time zone yourself. Closing your assistant does not pause a promotion.

Manage or disconnect a connection

Open Account → Integrations. Connected assistants appear under MCP Connections with their expiry date. To remove one, open the row's actions menu and select Disconnect. The section appears only while the account has an active connection.

Disconnecting stops that assistant's access. It does not delete promotions or stop a promotion that is already running. Remove Revup from your assistant's connection settings too if you no longer want it listed there.

Troubleshooting

• The assistant cannot connect: Check the server address and that your assistant supports remote MCP with OAuth sign-in. Some workspaces require an administrator to allow custom connections.
• A tool or action is unavailable: Ask the assistant to check account capabilities. The permissions you allowed, your Revup role, or your plan may prevent it. Reconnect to grant different permissions.
• The connection expired or was disconnected: Reconnect from your assistant and review the permissions again.
• An edit conflicts with a newer change: Ask the assistant to read the latest saved promotion and explain what changed before applying your edit again.
• An image or duplicate is still processing: Ask the assistant to check its status instead of starting it again.
