Add Passcodes to the form

Use the Passcodes field when someone must provide an approved code before Revup accepts their form or promotion entry.

1. Open the promotion builder and select Form.
2. In Form Fields, select Search for a field type.
3. Add Passcodes.
4. Open the field card and remain on Basic to add codes.

Only one Passcodes field can be added to a promotion.

Add codes by pasting them

1. Paste up to 1,000 codes into Passcodes. Put each code on a separate line or separate codes with commas.
2. Select Add codes.
3. Review the message showing how many codes were added and how many duplicates or invalid codes were skipped.

Codes are not replaced when you add another batch. New valid codes are added to the promotion's existing list, and duplicates are skipped.

A code must contain 3–64 letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores. It must begin and end with a letter or number. Revup converts codes to uppercase, so codes are not case-sensitive.

Upload a CSV

Use a CSV for more than 1,000 codes:

1. Under Passcodes, select upload a CSV.
2. Create a CSV with one code per row in the first column. Do not add a header row. You can also download the sample Passcodes CSV from the field.
3. Upload the file.
4. Wait for CSV processing to finish before testing or publishing the promotion.
5. Open View codes and confirm the expected totals.

CSV imports also add to the existing list instead of replacing it. Invalid and duplicate values are skipped.

Choose whether codes can be reused

By default, each code can be accepted once. After a participant submits a valid code, it is marked as redeemed and cannot be used again.

Turn on Allow passcodes to be used more than once when the same code should remain available after a successful submission. Promotion entry limits still apply.

Customize the field

The Passcodes field includes the standard settings for its label, placeholder, help text, required status, validation error message, width, hidden state, and Field ID.

Keep the field required when every submission must include an approved code. The same validation error is shown when an entered code is invalid, unavailable, or already redeemed, so write error text that works for each case.

Do not place private passcodes in a URL to pre-fill the field. URLs may be stored in browser history, analytics, logs, and referral data.

View and manage codes

Select View codes to:

• Review total, available, and used counts
• Search and sort codes
• See whether a code is available, partially used, or redeemed
• Generate and download an export
• Delete an unused code
• Delete the complete code list

An individually claimed code cannot be deleted. Delete all permanently removes the complete code list, so generate an export first when you need a record.

Understand what the field does

A valid passcode allows the participant's form submission to continue. It does not award a prize or predetermine an Instant Win result.

The Instant Win Code field is available only on Instant Win promotions. Use that field when submitted codes should determine a winning or losing result. For other promotion types, use a Passcode post-entry action when a valid code should unlock an action after the main form is submitted.

Before publishing, test an available code, an invalid code, and a redeemed code. If reusable codes are enabled, test the same code more than once. Keep real codes out of screenshots and support messages, and make sure their distribution matches your official rules or participation instructions.
