Use unique winning and losing codes

Configure winning and losing code lists, reuse limits, and unmatched-code behavior.

Choose Winning Codes

In an Instant Win promotion, open Settings β†’ Instant Win Prize Settings and set Prize Allocation Method to Winning Codes. Use the Instant Win Code field on the Form. This field determines the Instant Win result; the separate Passcodes form field and post-entry passcode action do not.

Winning Codes uses code matching instead of a wheel, scratch card, bottle, or mystery-box game.

Add winning codes to a prize

Create a complete prize under Instant Win Prizes, then open its code controls. Paste up to 1,000 codes, separated by commas or new lines. For larger batches, upload a CSV with the code in the first column and no header. Wait for processing and review the counts before distributing anything.

Each winning-code batch has a permitted number of uses, with an unlimited-use option. A matching code does not guarantee an award after its use limit, prize inventory, or participant win limit is reached. Keep the number of codes and their allowed uses consistent with the prize quantity you can fulfill.

Decide whether unmatched codes are accepted

Losing codes are configured separately under Instant Win Prize Settings.

  • No losing codes added: an unmatched code can be accepted as a non-winning attempt. An empty code is optional in the code-validation step. Do not use this configuration when entry must be restricted to a distributed list.
  • At least one losing code added: Revup requires a recognized, available winning or losing code. Unknown codes and exhausted winning codes fail validation.
  • Allow losing codes to be used more than once: this is on by default. Turn it off when each losing code should be consumed once. A previously consumed losing code is rejected while one-time use is enabled.

Winning and losing lists cannot share a code within the same promotion. Imports skip duplicates and cross-list conflicts. Review the resulting count; importing a file is not proof that every row was added.

Test and distribute codes

Use a separate staging promotion and dedicated codes. Check a winning code, a losing code, an unknown code, repeat use, use limits, and exhausted inventory. Test entries intentionally do not award real prizes; use the winner preview to review appearance separately from an allocation test.

Treat undistributed winning codes as confidential. Keep them out of screenshots, public files, URLs, and analytics. Explain where codes come from, their allowed uses, the entry period, participant limits, and claims in your public instructions and official rules.
