Create campaign tracking links
Measure traffic from named campaigns without confusing tracking and referral links.
Create a link for each traffic source
Open Share β Tracking links in a standard promotion. Enter a campaign name, such as Newsletter September, and select Add. Copy the generated link into that campaign's ad, email, or social post.
Use separate names for sources you want to compare. Names are required and limited to 255 characters. The generated link belongs to this promotion; copy it rather than constructing an address yourself.
Understand what the link measures
Tracking links attribute measured visits and entries to the named campaign. They are separate from the personal referral links participants use to earn referral entries. Creating a tracking link does not award a referrer any chances.
Use the displayed view and entry counts to compare results, allowing time for reporting to update. Tracking cannot guarantee identification across different browsers or devices.
Remove an unused link
A tracking link can be removed only while it has no recorded views or entries. Once activity exists, the remove control is disabled to preserve its reporting. A removed link stops working, so remove it from your marketing material too.
Before distributing a link, open it in a separate browser and confirm the intended promotion and public state. Use a dedicated staging campaign for attribution tests.
