Choose the right promotion type
Compare Revup product types and choose the best one for your campaign goal.
Match the product to your entry method
Choose the product type based on how someone participates and how any reward is determined.
Sweepstakes / Giveaway
Choose this when people complete a form for a chance to win in a later drawing. It is the best fit for lead generation, audience growth, referral campaigns, and giveaways with bonus-entry actions.
Use a Sweepstakes when you need prizes, official rules, random winner selection, alternates, a leaderboard, or winner claims.
Contest
Choose this when people submit a photo or video and the submission itself is reviewed, judged, or voted on. Contests include submission moderation, a public gallery, voting controls, and contest-specific rules.
Do not use a Contest for a standard prize drawing with no media submission; use a Sweepstakes instead.
Form
Choose this when the goal is to collect information rather than select a prize winner. Common uses include lead capture, event registration, applications, payment collection, contact forms, and file collection. For feedback questions you plan to read as aggregate results, use a Survey instead.
Forms can still use post-submission actions, integrations, email or SMS flows, design tools, and multiple languages.
Survey
Choose this when the goal is to ask customers questions and read the answers as results. Surveys add star ratings, opinion scales, and ranking questions on top of the shared field library, and reporting opens on a Responses tab organized question by question, with a question-summary CSV and a per-response CSV.
A survey's identity mode follows from the questions you add. With no email, phone, or unique ID question, responses are anonymous: no contact record is created, and there are no cookies, saved drafts, prefilled answers, verification steps, or contact integrations. Adding any one of those questions, even as an optional one, attaches responses to a contact. Removing the last one restores anonymous handling.
Surveys do not support payment fields, Flows, or RevAssist. Like other forms, they can use Logic to show, hide, or require questions based on earlier answers. Optional prizes and social actions can be added, and prize draws run through the normal Winners dashboard.
Quiz
Choose this when each person should get a personalized result based on their answers, such as a product recommendation, a skin or style profile, a lead score, or a graded knowledge check. Quizzes use the shared field library, show one question per page by default, and can use Logic items to show, hide, or require questions based on earlier answers.
Each quiz decides results with rules you can read and edit: points toward named outcomes, category scores, graded answers with a pass mark, or product recommendations from your connected catalog. RevAssist can draft the questions, results, and scoring from a short description, and nothing is published until you publish it. You can ask for an email or phone number before or after the result.
Use a Survey instead when you want to read answers as aggregate results rather than give each person a result.
Instant Win
Choose this when participants should learn immediately whether they won. Revup can support winner experiences such as spin-to-win, scratch-off, and unique code entry while controlling prize inventory and availability.
Use Instant Win instead of a Sweepstakes when the result must be determined at the time of participation.
Purchase Sweepstakes
Choose this when eligible Shopify orders should create entries automatically. You can award entries by amount spent and set product entry bonuses or multipliers, bonus periods, order bonuses, and coupon bonuses. Storefront features can show customers how many entries they can earn or have already earned.
Purchase Sweepstakes requires a connected Shopify store.
Products not yet available for new campaigns
Referral Rewards may appear in some product references or older data, but it is not currently available as a new standalone product type. Use a Sweepstakes, Form, Survey, or Quiz when its available features meet your goal.
